Tradition and Transition

Revealing the agony of the Great Schism of 1865 which fractured the Amish church, Yoder reveals the coming maturity of the Old Order Amish and the Amish Mennonites, who merged with the Mennonites early in the twentieth century. Mennonite Family History is a quarterly periodical covering Mennonite, Amish, and Brethren genealogy and family history. The Kurtz Family Sojourn
Abraham Kurtz was born about 1720 in Germany and died 1782 in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He emigrated to America in 1749 (possibly 1740). Abraham married three times: Margaret Bollinger, Barbara Bollinger, and Catharine (last name unknown).
